• What are you most excited about working in the Michigan policy space?  I’m most excited about learning others stories and utilizing their experience for better Michigan policy. I have enjoyed meeting wonderful people unique to the policy space and trying to figure out how to tailor their experience to fit policy. It’s life-changing learning others stories.
  • What impact would you like to leave for students in the higher education policy space? I want to leave a lasting impact on mental health and set a precedent that students should put their health first. Students can only be as successful if their health allows it. School is important, but putting students first will allow for improved performance and well-being.
  • What is something you wish people knew about pursuing higher education in Michigan? I wish I knew that I shouldn’t have worked so hard to get financial aid. If you are a dependent and both you and your guardian make enough money past a certain threshold then you will become ineligible for complete financial aid. I was working part-time during the school year, and I ended up working too many hours that got me past that threshold and I lost aid. If I had known working and making money during school could risk my financial aid it would have saved me a lot of financial stress and heartache.
