Erika is a senior policy associate supporting TICAS’ anti-poverty and basic needs work. Prior to joining TICAS, Erika was a policy analyst at the DC Fiscal Policy Institute where she led the organization’s public education work. She has also worked in state government roles in Louisiana and in her home state, North Carolina. She is particularly passionate about closing opportunity gaps for students from low-income families and those in rural communities, similar to those of her hometown.
Erika holds a Bachelor of Art in Public Policy and Political Science from UNC-Chapel Hill and a Master of Art in Educational Transformation with a focus on Advocacy and Policy from Georgetown University.
