Deborah Martin serves as a Senior Policy Associate for TICAS’ Anti-Poverty and Basic Needs team. She supports TICAS’ efforts to close equity gaps and align anti-poverty goals to strengthen the nation’s workforce. Deborah is a proud first-generation immigrant and graduate, who understands firsthand the positive impact a postsecondary education can have on an individual and their family. Previously, Deborah was the Policy Manager at the Florida College Access Network (FCAN) and a Legislative Aide in the Florida Senate. Both experiences provided her the skills to inform various stakeholders of the impact legislative actions can have on college access and success, while also understanding the intricacies of the legislative process in Florida.

She holds an MPA from the University of Central Florida and two bachelor’s degrees from the University of South Florida, in International Studies and Public Health. Deborah previously served on the National College Attainment Network (NCAN) Policy Council and is currently a proud mentor with the Take Stock in Children program.
