Webinar: Creating Stronger Alignment Between Human Services and Postsecondary Education
Connections between postsecondary education and human services programs serve individuals and families best when they are bidirectional:
-
- For those receiving public assistance, how can we offer connections to quality postsecondary opportunities as viable ways to meet their work requirements?
- For students already enrolled in postsecondary credentialing programs, how can we provide access to public benefits to address basic needs such as groceries, books, transportation, childcare, or other materials?
On October 28, 2026 TICAS and the American Public Human Services Association (APHSA) hosted a webinar about our Partnerships for Alignment, Credentialing, and Employment (PACE) Initiative, its benefits from the perspective of a lived expert, and additional research that emphasizes the need for stronger alignment between human services and higher education. The webinar also introduced an Alignment Framework for best practices and spotlighted a state who has implemented leading strategies to better connect these two often-siloed systems.
