TICAS Response to Senate Request for Proposals to Address Racial Disparities in Student Debt and Higher Education

In January, Senators Jones, Warren, Harris, and Cortez Masto requested recommendations to improve federal policies for student borrowers of color and make access to higher education more equitable. TICAS’ response outlines specific policy priorities for providing better support to students of color and addressing some of the equity gaps in spending, debt, and default.

TICAS Comments on Gainful Employment Rule Delays

Response to the Education Department’s request for comments on an additional one-year delay of key provisions in the gainful employment rule. We strongly oppose the delay. The Department is required to implement final regulations, and students and taxpayers have already waited long enough for protection from high-cost, low-quality career education programs.
