Coalition Letter

TICAS joined a coalition of 85 other stakeholder organizations in submitting comments in response to the Education Department’s Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, “Reimagining and Improving Student Education.” The comments urge ED to protect borrowers from economic harm as the proposed rule is finalized and implemented.  

TICAS joined 253 other organizations writing in opposition to the Department of Education’s Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) published to the Federal Register on Monday, August 18th that would make unlawful changes to the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program.

Today, 88 signers from the higher education and workforce development communities urged Congress to invest in our nation’s workforce by preserving the purchasing power of the Pell Grant with at least a $200 increase in the maximum award for FY 26.

170+ signers representing ed advocates, colleges, state higher education executives, workforce development organizations, college access organizations, consumer advocates, civil rights organizations, unions, student loan lenders and servicers, and the business community joined forces to urge Congress to invest in our nation’s workforce by fully funding the Pell Grant program.

TICAs, alongside consumer and civil rights groups, submitted a letter that urges California budget leaders to strengthen the state's primary regulatory agency for private proprietary education institutions, and calls for maintaining key student loan borrower protections.

TICAS joined a Californians for College Affordability Coalition letter calling for state legislators to make key investments in the final 2025-26 California state budget.
