One of The Institute's earliest projects was Student Loan Watch, an independent source of research and information about cost-efficiency in the federal student loan programs. The content and mission of Student Loan Watch are now part of Higher Ed Watch, a project of the New America Foundation’s Education Policy Program.
Student Loan Watch included:
A timeline and history of the federal student loan programs.
News updates regarding the efficiency of federal loan programs from August of 2004 to December of 2005.
Analysis of the loan programs' cost to taxpayers, from both independent and government sources.
We encourage you to visit www.higheredwatch.org, and to continue supporting student loan policies that make higher education more accessible and affordable for students and families.
