What impact do you hope to have on higher education policy?
I would like to leave an impact by helping create a higher education system where every student feels supported, heard, and included. I want to make sure students have access to clear information and opportunities, while also recognizing the additional challenges that students whose second language is English may face. I hope to help create policies that give all students an equal opportunity to succeed and feel that their voices matter.
What’s one thing people should know about higher education in Michigan?
I wish people knew that pursuing higher education in Michigan can be challenging for many students, especially when they are not familiar with how the college system works. Students need clear information about opportunities, resources, financial aid, and how to navigate college. For students whose second language is English, language can add another barrier, so having clear communication and support can make a big difference. I believe every student should have the same opportunity to succeed.
