Michael Deich is an institute fellow focusing on issues related to economic mobility and inclusive economic growth. Previously, Michael served in a variety of roles in government and in philanthropy. His government positions included designated deputy director of the Office of Management and Budget, special assistant to the president for economic policy, and senior director at the National Economic Council. In the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors, Michael has been a director of policy and government affairs for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, executive vice president for policy and advocacy at the Laura and John Arnold Foundation (now Arnold Ventures), and managing director at the Hamilton Project at the Brookings Institution.
