- What are you most excited about working in the Michigan policy space? I’m excited to work with this team and get a better understanding of the policy realm in general. This work could affect so many people, so it’s great to be able to be involved in something that can make a difference like that.
- What impact would you like to leave for students in the higher education policy space? I hope our work can continue to open doors for students. Everyone has a different experience with higher educaiton but could face some of the same problems, so collective information sharing and partnerships keeps issues transparent and student focused. Every student desreves the opportunity to pursue higher education if they would like to, and platforms that use student voices are able to keep policies relevant and effective.
- What is something you wish people knew about pursuing higher education in Michigan? Everyone follows a unique higher education path, and there isn’t a right or wrong way to go about it. One thing I want people to know though is how important it is to have some kind of plan in mind. Institutions are not all on the same plan, so understandning transfer requirements, prerequisties, financial aid, and other nuances for specific schools is important. It can be overwhelming to navigate, but there are resources available to help.
