What impact do you hope to have on higher education policy?
I would like to leave students with a sense of knowing that they are important, that their voices matter, and that they have the power to create change. I hope to encourage students to speak up, advocate for themselves and others, and never feel that their experiences or concerns are too small to be heard. Ultimately, I want students to feel valued, supported, and empowered to take up space in higher education and help shape it into a place where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
What’s one thing people should know about higher education in Michigan?
I wish people knew that pursuing higher education in Michigan is about more than earning a degree it is also about finding community, discovering your voice, and learning what you are capable of. There are many opportunities and resources available to students, but knowing how to find and advocate for those resources can make a huge difference. I want students to know that they belong in these spaces and should never be afraid to ask questions, seek support, and make the most of their educational journey.
