Adam Harris currently serves as the Inaugural Director for TRIO Upward Bound Detroit at Grand Valley State University. As a servant leader, Adam has invested his time and passion for more than 15 years to work with students and families throughout Metro Detroit. As an educator, coach, mentor, conflict resolution specialist and workshop facilitator, Adam has received several awards for his work in Detroit and beyond. Harris is a 3X self-published author and has spoken at colleges and universities across the country. He has been featured on MTV, NBC’s WDIV Local 4 News, Fox 2 News, Comcast Newsmakers, and other national and local media outlets. Adam Harris graduated from University of Michigan-Dearborn, completing his bachelor’s degree in business administration and a minor in African and African American Studies. He also completed his master’s degree in counseling from University of Detroit Mercy. His educational background, combined with his personal experiences, has shaped his unique perspective on leadership, personal growth, and success. Harris believes in empowering young people with the knowledge and skills they need to achieve their goals and make a positive impact on the world. In his free time, Adam enjoys spending time with his wife, family, volunteering, traveling, conducting seminars and workshops, and writing.
