Guiding Equity-Driven Postsecondary Change in Rural Communities
The Rural Reconnect Advisory Group (RRAG) brings together a diverse group of experts and practitioners to help shape and guide the Rural Reconnect Initiative. Composed of leaders from Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs), researchers, workforce and postsecondary practitioners, and advocates rooted in the rural South and Southwest, the RRAG plays a central role in ensuring this project reflects the lived experiences and real needs of rural Black and Latino learners.
Through peer learning, network-building, and strategic input, RRAG members help TICAS and MDRC surface the most promising practices and systemic reforms to boost college re-engagement, persistence, and attainment in rural communities.
Purpose of the RRAG
- Provide expert insight into the challenges facing rural MSIs and the students they serve.
- Inform the development of tools, research, and policy strategies throughout the initiative.
- Contribute to a national conversation on how to equitably reconnect rural adult learners to postsecondary opportunities.
