Letter of Support for California Assembly Bill 313

On June 6, 2025, TICAS submitted a letter to the Senate Education Committee in support of Assembly Bill 313, which would provide the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) with the authority to extend the state priority financial aid application deadline by one month. TICAS supports this effort to mitigate the myriad of issues that remain from the 2024-25 FAFSA rollout and confusion around the launch of the 2025-26 FAFSA application. The 2025-26 application was not fully available until December 1, 2024, giving students a shorter completion window before the state priority deadline.
