Within the next 10 days, President Trump will decide the fate of students cheated by their colleges. The President needs to hear from YOU!

On Tuesday, Congress sent a bipartisan bill to the White House to protect the “borrower defense” rule. Under the borrower defense rule, students who were lied to or cheated by their colleges can cancel their student loans. Hundreds of thousands of students have filed claims in the last few years, many who attended now-closed schools with extensive records of predatory behavior like Corinthian Colleges and ITT Tech.

Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos repealed nearly all of the rule, leaving students holding the bag for fraud by their schools. By the Department of Education’s own estimates, only 3 percent of the loans of cheated students would be cancelled.

Thanks to your support, the House of Representatives and Senate passed the bill in a bipartisan manner. Now the bill goes to the President, and he has 10 days to either sign or veto it, but he needs to hear from YOU! During a time when Americans need more support than ever before, write the President now and urge him to restore the stronger protections – it takes less than a minute to make your voice heard.

Email Trump and tell him a strong borrower defense rule is needed to protect students and taxpayers from colleges that mislead students over college costs, job options, and earnings.
