URGENT: Tell Congress to Freeze Interest Rates for One Year

The interest rate for subsidized Stafford student loans will double from 3.4% to 6.8% on July 1 - this coming Monday - making college more expensive for more than 7 million students this fall. But there's still time to keep rates affordable for students who need to borrow for college this fall.

Tell Congress to reverse this doubling of interest rates!

On July 10, the Senate is scheduled to vote on the Keep Student Loans Affordable Act (S. 1238), which would return the rate to 3.4% for loans disbursed on or after July 1. It was introduced yesterday by Senators Reed and Hagen and 37 other senators, and it fully pays for itself by closing a tax loophole.

Urge your Senators and Representatives today to support the Keep Student Loans Affordable Act.
