Difficult Dialogues Initiative

Promoting Pluralism and Academic Freedom on Campus

The Assessment and Evaluation Development Team atthe Institute consults with the Ford Foundation's Difficult Dialogues Initiative in the areas of assessment and evaluation. Through technical assistance and individualized consultation, the AEDT has provided evaluation and assessment support to grantees and has helped to develop institutional capacity that ensures incorporation of these tools in their activities.

Currently, the AEDT is conducting a review of the Initiative that will identify strong approaches and models utilized by grantee institutions to promote pluralism and academic freedom on campus. Given the complexity, pioneering nature, and significance of this Initiative, this review will serve to inform not only the Ford Foundation, but also efforts to address issues of pluralism and academic freedom in the academy and beyond.

The Assessment and Evaluation Development Team includes project director Hilda Hernández-Gravelle and Anna Pagano.
